How To Become a MAVO: The Initial Course

To become a certified MAVO in New Jersey you must take the initial class; this class can be 6 and 8 hours in duration depending on the size of the class. A minimum score of 70% is required on the written test.

After you complete the class, you will be given a temporary license as proof of completion of the course. The temporary certificate is good for 30 days. You can use the temporary license to apply for jobs as a MAV driver. The actual card will be sent via email within 2 weeks and is valid for 2 years.
